If we know, then we must fight for your life as though it were our own - which it is - and render impassable with our bodies the corridors to the gas chamber. For if they come for you in the morning, they will be coming for us that night.

Abuser logic
The reactionary centrist logic is simple: if the left does something bad it’s the left’s fault, and if the right does something bad, it’s also the left’s fault for making them do it. It’s a simple formula and once you see it every one of their arguments is the same

One thing I really want people to understand is that the Black Panthers were meticulous in their knowledge of the law and opsec - not because they thought the law was awesome, not because they always followed it and never did civil disobedience (lol),

Crucially, it is EXTREMELY difficult and costly to occupy a place with a hostile population that doesn’t want you there.
They don't have capacity to terrorize more than 2-3 cities at a time.

Which means they rotate teams to new cities without relief.

Which means consistent resistance by fresh activists in each new city will break them over time.

Which means if you're city's not occupied, rest up and get ready.

When George Floyd was murdered, Dems decided to throw in their lot with the grassroots movement for racial justice. We know empirically that doing so played a serious role in Biden’s 2020 election win. Their lesson from this, however, was that activists actually have demands and must be shunned.

I taught LaGuardia for my religion and popular culture course, and assigned @nnedi.bsky.social post on africanfuturism as part of the reading. A student was so inspired they asked to do presentation on it. Worth your time to do the reading.
Please please please stop calling what I do afrofuturism. It is NOT. It is africanfuturism and the distinction MATTERS GODDAMMIT. I can't remain civil about this much longer and I shouldn't be expected to. 🤬

Even saddling The Space Cat with the afrofuturism label is diabolical.

Given that the fascists defunded everything except the jackboots, this seems pretty straightforward
Defunding the police was always a good idea. The bipartisan rejection of it helped lead us to where we are now. Until we recognize its necessity, we will continue our downward spiral.

New Yorkers built a movement around the belief that every family should be able to afford a dignified life. Today, as Governor Kathy Hochul and I mark our commitment to universal childcare, we're proving that a movement of the people can transform how government serves the people.

How do we address the act of archiving as a productive and imaginative process that responds to destruction and erasure?
