Healthcare is a basic human right.

This is my official request to be introduced as if I'm a #RescuePet.

"This is Jennifer. She's a rescue, so she's still adapting and learning to trust humans again. We know that she is afraid of the patriarchy, Tories, rodents, & most white men in positions of authority. Kids & dogs she likes."
I wonder what it is like to go through a day, not feeling like an outcast.

Then again, with the lack of humanity in the world today, I think I'd rather not fit in.

Thanks anyway, but I know humans deserve housing, healthcare, food, and a basic level of respect from their government.

I am so fucking tired of people in charge pretending not to have information just to make decisions based solely on the economic benefit to a few already wealthy people.

Measles outbreak could've been avoided by not pretending masks/clean air were only requested by anxiously paranoid ppl.

If you equate expertise in survival with current resilience, you will break people. I've survived so much, built up a pretty impressive attitude & I'm good at faking function, but it's hollowed me out. I'm so fragile.

Some people only see the resilience, disbelieve the fragility.

Internalize this:
Respect the “can’t”
People with disabilities and chronic illnesses will often say we “can’t” do something when technically, we can, but not without severe consequences we’re not willing to pay. Since, in my experience…

The more I learn about the Olympics, the more I realize I made the right decision by not watching them before now.

The money......

When a good chunk of humans all around the world can't afford basic life needs like housing, food, and medicine, it is wild to me that we spend so much money on games.

Also applicable to UK's copycat; Canada.

The whole fucking system is monstrous, but more clearly it is deeply wasteful of human value and the precious resources we have to spread across the needs of people living here.

Also applicable to Canada - UK's younger sibling.
If you costed up every evil thing this government has done how many affordable homes could we have built instead? How much could we have saved?

Even after a banker, who never for one millisecond pretended that he cared about anything environmental was put in charge of Canada?

Wow. Who could have seen this happening except for any and every human who has been paying attention to how rich people behave?

I don’t think we should allow the secret police to round people up and sort them by race
More than 400 people, including hundreds of citizens, were “sorted” at gun point into racial and ethnic groups by 200 ICE agents who fired flash-bang grenades into cars with people inside, pointed guns at children & demanded their zip tied parents not comfort them. apple.news/Ausdx6kWtT0e...

if we can’t prosecute everyone in the files because that would cause the entire system to collapse then maybe the entire system should collapse

Colbert: Do you have a favorite action movie?

Weird Al: Oh, uh, Raiders of the Lost Ark. It's a perfect action movie, and it works on many levels. My favorite thing is its such a throwback to a time - a simpler time - when it was pretty much universally believed that the nazis were the bad guys.

The risks of SARS-CoV-2 and other airborne pathogens can be severe, but the media continues to stigmatize Olympians taking precautions as "worried" and "extreme". We know #LongCOVID can affect anyone, even elite athletes.

I not only remember using the button remotes (that had indestructible cords!), but I remember when my brother figured out that if a button was in between positions, you could sometimes pick up an extra channel.

👀
Age verification? I remember using one of these TV remotes

PEI, like most small places, gives a few last names better treatment, advantages, & get-out-of-jail-free cards than they give to any average Islander.

This article is as surprising as elon being a nazi - which is to say, not at all surprising if you've been watching.
