Someone asked me to comment on the anniversary of Jan 6. I will consider having comments on it….should it ever end. We are very much still reaching for the nadir of this reclamation. No time yet for historicizing it. Still trying to survive it.

It's New Year, so time to look back and forward. These are 10 things I think we need to recognise in 2026. It’s a response to what I think are profoundly damaging mistaken assumptions I’ve heard and read from practitioners, journalists, and analysts in 2025. Warning: very long🧵

Best ever thread. Enjoy. Thanks for sharing Tom.
THREAD.

My parents' cat Bridget vanished. As the weeks dragged on they became ever more worried, so to distract himself my dad began to paint Bridget's adventures, imagining her travelling through time and popping up at some of art & music's most important moments.

What’s amazing about this story is that they *reversed* it. It’s not just a treatment that can stave it off or delay it. It *cures* Alzheimer’s. I know lots of research initially seems hopeful in mice and then doesn’t go anywhere, but this could be momentous.
I cried.
Wanna see real-life miracles? Fund scientific research.

A team of US scientists just cured Alzheimer’s in mice — and there is now hope that the disease can be reversed in humans.

Randy Rainbow absolutely clowning RFK Jr. is both peak comedy and tragedy. A neoclassical American Tragedy? 🇺🇸🎭

Here’s to living in a timeline so unhinged we need a musical parody (though it’s not much of a stretch) to make sense of it! For now we laugh, we’ll save the panic for a little later 😅

I have this concern as well. Honestly at this point I’m defaulting to not trusting prescribing information issued after 2024 until I can independently verify it.
if FDA labels start getting changed based on low-quality evidence like this, I legitimately think the entire process of how the pharmacy profession functions grinds to a halt

like we all have the training to critically evaluate this shit but we don’t have the TIME!
This is bonkers. FDA is going to change leucovorin's label based on a lit review with data on 40 patients w/ cerebral folate deficiency and comparisons to "known natural history."
