Jew. Mostly leftist. Queer. Most people refer to me with the pronouns "he/him" and I acquiesce in this.

This is obviously incorrect
Republican Senator Mike Rounds said Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in a call to senators, confirmed the so-called 28-point “peace plan” was actually a Russian wishlist and is “not the administration’s position”. Nor is there any threat to cut off weapons or intelligence to Ukraine.

Amazing
A reporter asks if Mamdani stands by calling Trump a fascist. Mamdani starts to give a delicate answer.

Trump (smiles, pats Mamdani's arm): "That's OK, you can just say yes. It's easier. I don't mind."

Is there any prospect that Jared Polis would actually do this????
NEW: Colorado’s county election clerks (majority Republican) implore Gov Polis (D) not to release Tina Peters to the Trump administration. Their joint letter says it would be a slap in the face to clerks who endure threats due to Peters’ election rigging conspiracy theories.

The most offensive thing about this to me is that it doesn't even work as a dig, there are more Bluesky users than there are adopters of any uniform law because there are only fifty states

A Trump supporter started murdering his way through an assassination list of Democratic law makers FIVE MONTHS AGO. He murdered my colleague Melissa Hortman, and her husband Mark — and attempted to assassinate my dear friend John Hoffman and his wife Yvette. I was also on the hit list. WTF

I don't understand what "Hegelian" is supposed to mean in that sentence
This week’s scorecard of German Idealism in legal documents:
Kant 1
Hegel ?

Left: Hunter Biden motion for default judgment

Right: Judge Smith’s dissent in Texas redistricting case

(Smith’s reference is obviously meant to be negative, but given the tenor of the dissent, how to score?)

Also, it's not just a due process issue, you can't even murder people who have been validly convicted of a crime
1) There were interviews. Fox didn't air them.
2) Due process isn't just for people we think are innocent. It's for everyone, even when we think they are guilty.
3) The US benefits from countries observing the traditional laws of the sea, and has every reason to set that example.
Cotton on Trump's boat strikes: "Use common sense. If any of these had been boats full of fisherman or refugees, CNN would've already been on the ground & interviewed all their families & told their stories. We can be confident all of these strikes have been against cartel-based drug traffickers."

"But its headline-grabbing LGBTQ+ figure requires some clarification: It is based on a survey of 181 volunteer respondents, with limited participation from Orthodox students, making it impossible to know how precisely it reflects the entire population of aspiring rabbis."
A new study finds 51 percent of current rabbinical students identify as LGBTQ, reflecting major shifts in American Jewish life. Educators say queer rabbis bring empathy, resilience, and leadership at a time of rising challenges.

This case is well-known to D.C. prosecutors. In fact, the process of taking an indictment where a portion has been rejected, re-drafting it, and presenting the amended version to the grand jury for a vote is called "Gaitherizing."

This is a key fact--it wasn't Halligan who did this but the magistrate
That confused the magistrate because there seemed to be a facial discrepancy between the two documents handed up by the foreperson.

So, for the record, she had the foreperson pencil in an amendment to the grand jury’s no bill report, specifying that the no bill was to Count 1.
November 19, 2025 at 7:15 PM
I think this is right as to what happened and it's way worse than the "clean up to avoid embarrassment" story that it seemed to be before
The issue here is basically that the actual written document the grand jury returned just said they no-billed the whole thing. We have the GJ foreperson’s word that they *would have* voted out just the other two, but that doesn’t seem to be what actually happened and that’s not good enough.
