@zeteo.com Compare and contrast Donald Trump's response to Rob Reiner's murder with Biden and Harris's responses to Charlie Kirk's murder.

There is no 'both sides'. Just one side - Trump - that is cruel, sociopathic, unhinged.

Rob Reiner directed some of the most beloved movies of all time, including Stand By Me, This is Spinal Tap, and The Princess Bride. His production company also made movies like The Shawshank Redemption, Before Sunrise and Michael Clayton. The film industry has lost one of its titans.

Rob Reiner made some great movies but he was also unafraid to speak the truth, and was one of the public voices who knew you don’t squander your platform, and only got louder about opposing evil fucks as he got older. Legend.

I interviewed Rob Reiner as one of the bonuses for the @criterion.bsky.social BluRay of SPINAL TAP. We talked for an hour about the movie and his career and then they shut off the cameras and we talked about movies for another hour. A delightful, unhurried genius.

European leaders commit to aid Ukraine militarily against future Russian attacks, if a peace deal is reached. Nothing Trump and Russia asked for will be part of deal, including their requests to occupy Ukrainian territory. The US was reduced to an observer role, France will lead the coalition.

On a personal note.

I knew Rob Reiner & his lovely wife Michelle. One of my happiest memories was chatting with them in their kitchen, making sandwiches talking politics, and movies.

They were kind people. Extraordinarily normal and very, very kind.

I love & miss them already.
Life is short.

Last week Donald Trump was polling at 31%. Mocking Rob Reiner’s passing is going to send him into the 20’s, and his grip on power will be broken. All of a sudden everyone will admit they’ve always hated him.

Like any bully, Trump is fundamentally a coward. When he feels humiliated, he lashes out. Every authoritarian action he is taking must be understood against the backdrop of his declining popularity. He feigns strength, but he's operating from a place of weakness.

Federal Law requires the Trump Administration to release the Epstein files to Congress by this Friday, Dec 19.

Does anyone believe that they will comply with the law fully? Or, will they come out with thousands of pages so redacted that they look like black paper, with thousands of photos missing?

Rob Reiner had the most enviable career in Hollywood. He starred in one of the biggest shows of all time for a whole decade. For most people that would have been the peak, but he went on to turn out one classic film after another. Not to mention produce some of the biggest shows ever. What a sad day

You can’t expect a criminal who has no respect for women, the disabled, people of color, our troops, victims of 9/11, LGBTQ+ people, humanity or even his own demon spawn to show respect after someone is brutally murdered. I’ll never forgive anyone who chose this or sat out.

The cultural impact of Rob Reiner cannot be understated. Legend isn't big enough a word. It goes to 11. You can't handle the truth. As you wish. I'll have what she's having. I'm your number one fan. You guys wanna see a dead body? The very idea of a bucket list. The West Wing.

All from his movies.

In a world where fewer and fewer people concern themselves with the plight of others, the loss of Rob Reiner, who cared deeply about humanitarian causes, feels that much more devastating. RIP: 1947-1925.
