And for what it's worth, I am always open to questions from other consultants from would-be and newbie consultants, to helping those who had the same feeling I did all those years ago when I first started, watching others do the job I wanted and not knowing how I could get there.

Talking to one of these types at a con who asked how I 'got in' with so many 'famous writers' who I'd been talking to and I said "we made friends before anyone knew who we were decades ago by striking up interesting conversations and enjoying each other's company" and he kept re-asking the question.
They have come to the convention hoping to "break in" and then find themselves -- shocker! -- a "nobody in the book world." Yeah no shit! We all are! I have gently told guys like this a million times that it takes most of us *years* of hard work but they do not believe that could be true for them. +

I have slept more than I've been awake over Christmas, the chronic fatigue recovery is always like this. Lucky to have understanding in-laws and a place to nap whenever I want!

I had a lot of issues watching The Game Awards this year as there were no individual warnings for the trailers to give me a heads-up whether they were safe or not.

One final report from me before the holiday – I spoke with disabled players who noted this year's Game Awards caused seizure-like symptoms and migraines. Some reveals like Divinity caused approximately four hours of pain. Read more here:

Working in the games industry directly FTE and not as a consultant has been illuminating in the same way as turning on the light in the pantry of an old house and it reveals there's a bunch of suspicious skeletons and a family tree that looks more like a family ouroborous.
