With ICE and border patrol goons spreading out across the country, I put together a resource guide for buying, printing, and distributing whistles, based on my own experience. Now is the time to whistle up, hope this helps. dansinker.com/posts/202…

I mean, if folks don't like whistles, I'll be glad to carry my trombone around instead.
Oh they don’t like the whistles? Hey everyone, they don’t like the whistles. If you use them it makes the armed goons sad.
Kristi Noem is mad that protesters are blowing whistles at ICE agents.

I was telling my preschool students that one of my first words as a baby was "GUH" for "Grover." None of them knew who Grover was, but one of them wondered if it was Grover from A Christmas Story.

Easily several hundred people have packed into this plaza in Chicago's North Center tonight in response to ICE abducting a daycare worker early this morning.

This is a neighborhood that has largely been spared until now from the "Midway Blitz" terror campaign. But everyone knows someone affected.

Great account of tonight's rally. Friends outside Chicago, we need you to know what's happening here, and we need you to know that we are fighting hard.
Tyler and I are out here at the rally where the crowd has about doubled since this first post. Easily 400+ people.

Group is chanting “no hate, no fear, everyone is welcome here.”
Here at Northcenter Town Square where 100-200 community members including families and young children are rallying after a teacher was taken by federal law enforcement from a local daycare this morning.

The first Christmas song @nealshankman.bsky.social and I heard in 2025? "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch." A perfect start to a holiday season in which our government seems hell-bent on taking away every last can of Who hash.

The radio just played "Hips Don't Lie" into "Pink Pony Club" into "Golden," and my Lyft driver and I were both trying so hard to be polite and quiet and settle for humming under our breaths, but it was obvious we both needed to be in totally feral singalong mode.

Still recovering from last week's amazing HONK! Festival with Clamor & Lace Noise Brigade and Yes Ma'am Brass Band. I love the activist brass community and the people who welcome us into *their* communities to play and rage and create joy together.

If Chicago were truly the “war zone” he describes, would anyone even have time for brunch?

The truth is simple: ICE isn’t welcome in Chicago. When you send federal agents into communities that don’t want them there, of course there will be resistance.
