We did a Zero Hour!/Airplane! double feature for a group movie night a few years back. Some folks hadn't seen Airplane! before, so every time the rest of us cracked up over something familiar in Zero Hour!, we'd have to explain, "See, when they say that in Airplane!, it's funny."

Bro.

The times, they have a-changed, and so has the children's media landscape in general and the scope and influence of Sesame Street in particular. I know this well. But cute, adorable, fuzzy blue monsters are superior to crummy little toadies with green teeth, and I will die on this hill.

Both times I've had an opportunity to meet Peter Buck, I've avoided it for that same reason. I suspect I'll do the same when I see Drink the Sea in February.
