Now that I've finished heated rivalry, I can solidly say that the MOST implausible part of the show is any reference to ESPN reporting on hockey. This is bc:
- ESPN didn't get the NHL contract back until 2021, so if we're mimicing irl sports this doesn't fit
- ESPN gives negative shits about hockey

One of the difficult things about the conditions we find ourselves facing now is that they were incredibly predictable… and predicted.
Perpetual reminder: extreme rainfall events increase due to #globalheating. Weather station data show what has been predicted for over 30 years by climate scientists. These extremes are now far outside the historical climate.

Another thought on the generative AI debate. As more and more AI slop papers come out, it becomes *more* important to actually read the papers and *more* important to gain domain expertise to spot fakes. An AI generated summary of an AI generated paper isn't going to tell you the paper is fake.

There seems to be some sort of logical fallacy at work here. I'm going to call it "transcriptionism"... it's as if some people think all the knowledge is already out there in some sort of grand transcript and all that's needed is better indexing and reading tools to look it all up.
