I’m a Kaine constituent and just called his DC and Richmond offices. No answer (recording says office is closed for the day) and not accepting voice messages.

Getting a deal where you are promised a future vote that might not pass the Senate let alone the House is a chump move.

@alexwinter.com Seeing you and Keanu do Godot was life changing. Took the train to NYC to catch it. I’ve been obsessed, reading interpretations & listening past performances. I liked the way you plaintively say “we’re waiting for Godot.” More exasperated than funny, as it was in other renditions.

Has anyone by chance read 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami and seen the new show Pluribus?

oh so these people do pay attention to who politicians follow on social media, they just don’t care that the vice president follows a bunch of actual neo-nazis
Axios tried to bust James Talarico for following adult content creators on Instagram and I'm genuinely impressed by his campaign's response

The vanity of a person to think that his own personal principles matter one lick as a jurist
JUSTICE BRETT KAVANAUGH:

“[Scalia] taught us … what it meant to have a backbone, what it meant to withstand withering criticism, what it meant to be fearless, what it meant to stand up for his principles even when they weren’t popular. Especially when they weren’t popular.”

I’m curious about historical examples of Speakers who cared less about preservation of Congressional power. Anyone by chance have an idea?
Q: What's your response to Gorsuch's expressing concern about Trump usurping congressional authority?

MIKE JOHNSON: I don't find myself in disagreement with Justice Gorsuch too often, but I think he missed the mark on this one

If you don’t accept Conor at his 2022-2023 “recession fears are overblown,” you don’t deserve him at whatever this is.

(This is my way of saying I’m a fan and I respect his takes, even if I disagree.)
“It’s not that I’m for austerity, it’s just that I’m against bailing out AI, crypto, private assets/university endowments, and I’m fine with canceled Thanksgiving flights and missed paychecks as long as Republicans take the blame for it.”

Fun thing about being a SC justice is you get to pick policies you like and make up legal justification later. Lawlessness counter to statute, jurisprudence, due process, and basic fairness is no problem when Kavanaugh et al want masked thugs to drag ppl from their cars based on their skin color.
Gorsuch finally speaks, and oh yeah, he's against Trump. Alito also sounded skeptical, which is surprising to me. Regardless, there will plainly be a lopsided majority to strike down the tariffs.

The government better start working on its Plan B...

A Virginia Republican delegate who has served and comfortably won since 2002 lost. Estimates were 5-6 Dem pickups in the HoD. They won 13. Last night was a wipeout.
