It’s a back to school unlike any other and we know that we are all responsible for helping keep each other safe in this frightening era- w/help from and inspired by the efforts of @utlanow.bsky.social we put together a shareable set of slides for school/community groups.
Chuck Schumer’s NY office is the only one of his 9 offices that appears to have a human answering the phone this morning- they think folks care that Schumer voted no. Tell them you know how their games work- he’s the party leader so he’s responsible for the vote- 212.486.4430

Senators on the brink of retirement who lived full, wealthy lives and never feared the loss of their own healthcare voting for their constituents to die from their inability to afford the same is treasonous

The Heritage Foundation’s commitment to erasing the historical contributions of anyone not white while advocating for segregationist policies going forward is global and extends to the dead.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

The administration is deliberately starving poor people so that Dems will agree to radically slash the healthcare available to poor people.

Do not let its familiarity dull your outrage. This is monstrous, unforgivable shit.
The Trump administration told states that they must “immediately undo” any actions to provide full food stamp benefits to low-income families, in a move that added to the chaos surrounding the nation’s largest anti-hunger program during the government shutdown. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/09/b...

Socialism is what they called public power.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.

The work against dark $ funded reactionary groups and candidates is nowhere near over. In CA M4L has always been a fringe player- tied to the much more powerful networks coming out of megachurches like Calvary and the think tanks/legal orgs they’re aligned with like CA policy ctr & CA family council
Viral posts about how Moms For Liberty had zero wins on election night...aren't true. They're misinformation, even dis-info.

M4L did have a number of school board candidates win. You can verify that information pretty easily.

They had *A LOT* of losses and their power isn't what it once was.

Happy Solidarity Week to all the GUSD-GSAs! We're so proud of all the GUSD kids who stand solid with community, that's where our power is.

(We made the cards. They did the chalk-bombing. They definitely win this round.)

Once again, we need to define what “feminism” is here. Not everything any woman ever does—not even in the political realm, and not even concerning gender—is “feminism.” Opposing the rights of women as a class to equal status and dignity is in fact called “antifeminism.”

We watch every day as the right calls everyone to the left of George W Bush a “communist,” calls public school “Marxist” and people who accept all genders/identities “groomers”- their words mean nothing and their bigotry fueled fear mongering can no longer define the terms of our material reality.
Democrats, don’t let the word “socialist” spook you. I’m not Democratic socialist, but I’m damn proud to be part of a party big enough to hold all of us.

FACT: Republicans call every Democrat a socialist, It’s all they’ve got.

And, who doesn’t love that Republicans are having melt down over it.

This is huge- when local reactionaries tied to dark $ orgs started calling for book & curriculum bans back in 2021 we recognized their efforts as modeled on strategies deployed in Bucks (& Loudon) county. 4 years later, voters there decisively rejected these predatory attacks on public education.
*A correction:* I'd posted about 2 school boards in Bucks that were key conservative takeovers in 2021. I wrote Dems not only now ran both boards, but that they'd ousted every GOPer on both boards.

That was an error. GOP did win one seat on Pennridge.

So 8-1 D there. 9-0 Dem in Central Bucks.

For years, but especially for the past year, Democrats have been in thrall to the idea that they need to chase an imagined median voter, and adopt that voter’s positions. Mamdani’s victory shows another way: hold principles, and persuade people to share them.
