The UK doesn't understand it is the next target of the US oligarch/right-wing/oil cartel.
The fact that all large UK broadcasters continue to use X, an openly white supremacist platform that has been redesigned specifically to amplify far-right elites, is doing massive, real-time harm to the country.

Get used to it. This is the US right-wing playbook, honed over decades, brought over to attack the UK now. (I saw what was coming when I read about the Heartland Institute opening a UK branch.)
Politico: "Veteran BBC presenter David Dimbleby told Channel 4 last night that it is “one of the most violent assaults on the BBC’s independence that I’ve seen in my lifetime,” while Playbook is told staff have been voicing “a lot of anger towards [right wing BBC board member] Robbie Gibb.”

Face it, raising the NI contributions of small businesses, restaurants, etc was a harmful mistake.

This is not all from that, but it contributed, harming High Streets.

The "deep state" prevented freighters from being "deep freighters."
In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.

A buying "strike" can't work. You can't boycott a monopoly.

In the US we saw how these orchestrated attacks work. This is "playing the refs."

This is happening because people were complaining that the BBC was promoting Farage risking a push back to the center.

This is about pushing it even more to the right. It is a piece of the US-funded attack on the US.

I will not support the Republican bill that’s on the Senate floor because it fails to do anything of substance to fix America’s healthcare crisis.

What I can’t stop hearing is that you caved after saying forever you wouldn’t allow a cave unless one (1) demand was met, and whether the demand was ever going to be met notwithstanding, you ended the shutdown by explicitly submitting to the demand not being met

Accurate.
There are two big problems with the “the Dem strategy wasn’t working argument.” One is that it was. The other is that changing the strategy did not require capitulation.

OH MY FUCKING GOD

First of all, why trust Thune at all? Second, WHO THE FUCK CARES IF THERE'S A VOTE THAT WILL FAIL AND NEVER GET TAKEN UP BY THE HOUSE EVEN IF IT DOES? SOMEONE FUCKING ASK DURBIN HOW HE EXPECTS THIS VOTE TO GO
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

When I was in the US we learned to see this sort of thing for what it is: a coordinated right-wing campaign.

The BBC did not "make it look like" Trump encouraged the Jan 6 attack. He -DID- encourage it, and was impeached for it.

This is exactly right. Every word. The idea that BBC "doctored' Trump's speech to "make it look like" Trump encouraged the Jan 6 attack is preposterous. Trump was IMPEACHED for encouraging the attack.

This is part of a strategic effort to move BBC even further to the right.

No one
No one on God's green earth believes this.
Shaheen: "We've heard from a number of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle that they're willing to come to the table, they're willing to work with us once the govt is open to get this done. We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work w/us"

Should Gibb be sacked? yes, obviously. He's an abomination of basic journalistic standards. His GB News channel spreads conspiracy theory & disinformation. His Jewish Chronicle newspaper spreads invented stories. He is plainly trying to undermine the BBC so it's as bad as everything else he touches.

My opinion. Every Dem Senator needs a primary starting now. A few might justify themselves and stay but assume the worst of them.

But watch which ones are getting the big corporate and AIPAC money. Vote them OUT.

Even if they don't have an election for 4 years start the primary fight NOW.

And the truly craziest thing abt this cave is that someone seeing the invasion of Chicago firsthand, Dick Durbin, doesn't understand this.
seems to me that those democrats inclined not to fight perceive themselves as living through a somewhat ordinary cycle of presidential overreach and backlash and not something much more significant and dangerous
