Won some silverware this weekend!

I’ve scored a lot of goals in my life but I don’t think any have felt better than my stoppage time winner in the Icarus Cup final.

Don't think yesterday could realistically have gone any worse for Frank (other than things really unravelling at 3-0). To go in with that approach in that fixture and for it fail so badly is an instant deal-breaker for a lot of fans. Esp as the players looked so uncommitted.

I am only now realizing this is why the Pirates AA affiliate in Altoona is call the Curve
It’s a damn shame you can’t see the Altoona horseshoe curve from the highway

The people who built the tech destroying society are antisocial weirdos, which is why their products are socially corrosive. But as tools have advanced, incidental pro-social functions (Facebook as Rolodex, Twitter as news hub) have decayed and it’s just “you consume slop, you talk to computer” etc.
Nightmarish idea for a startup tbh

When I was in first grade I had a spelling test featuring the word “breakfast.” That morning, I’d seen “Break the Fast” on my Honey Nut Cheerios box, so I spelled breakfast “breakthefast” and that is something I will never forget.
Just now occurred to me for the first time in my life that the word breakfast is literally Break Fast, the thing that you are doing when you eat it after not eating for roughly 12-16 hours. I'm really smart.

You’ve gotta admit it’s very convenient that 100 mph is basically the upper limit for how fast humans can throw baseballs. Pretty much the best argument against the metric system

The coolest thing about Pitt is since 1980, they’ve produced maybe the best defensive player all time, a top 5 corner all time, a top 5 receiver all time, 2 top 15 all-time RBs, another top 50 all-time RB, and their best season was getting slaughtered by Utah at the fiesta bowl
(1) PITT HAS RETIRED TOO MANY NUMBERS
(2) IF THERE IS ONE NUMBER THAT SHOULD BE RETIRED OUT OF ALL OF THEM ITS PROBABLY 97

Rubicon
Everyone has a 1-2 season TV show they sorely miss and not enough people knew about that you are always praising the heavens about.

What's yours?

The Chivito at Fast Gourmet (RIP) in DC
Mine was in Memphis. It was about a 1” slab of smoked bologna with a crusty sauce smothered in some slaw in between the two most perfect pieces of Texas toast I’ve ever seen. Sometimes I wake up in tears after dreaming about it. It honestly may only have ever existed in my dreams. I would die for it

The lone season of Rubicon. I’m still waiting on season 2.
“slow” definitely works better in movies. Trying to think of slow TV that works. Probably just like Krzysztof Kieślowski’s Dekalog unless you wanna include The Wire or Mad Men or whatever
