Every day we get another story of the executive arbitrarily claiming powers they don’t have under law or constitution, and using them punitively against political opponents.

Each one individually would be a month long scandal that ground the administration to a halt under any other president.
The FAA on Tuesday halted all flights to and from El Paso Airport in Texas for 10 days for “special security reasons,” isolating a major U.S. metropolitan area from air travel. Follow live updates.
FAA Halts All Flights at El Paso Airport for 10 Days: Live Updates
No flights are allowed to or from the airport until Feb. 20 under a flight restriction order that cited unspecified “special security reasons.”

kind of funny that an olympian said they are here to represent "compassion, respect, and love for others" and some people automatically knew that was a statement against them

Celebrating 250 years of democracy by only allowing vassals willing to pay tribute an opportunity to speak to the King.
SCOOP: Freedom 250 — the group launched by Trump to oversee projects including the @UFC fight on the WH lawn & his arch overlooking DC — is offering access to him for donors who give $1M.

For $2.5M, donors are being offered the chance to speak at the national July 4 celebration. 🎁🔗

Jeffrey Bezos is destroying the Washington Post for the same reason Musk destroyed Twitter and Ellison is destroying CBS—oligarchs oppose the free press when if it threatens their wealth and power.

They don’t want normal people to see what is happening in America.

This part of our response essay is where I'm at. Boiling down all of politics to electoralism has been absolutely terrible for resisting rising authoritarianism.

This is bonkers. MAHA 'farmers' with ecoli tainted raw milk admit they really don't know how to make the stuff after all.

"Producing raw milk takes careful planning from a facility and infrastructure standpoint. Unfortunately, we learned this after the fact."

Remember the incident where DHS claimed officers shot a guy because he attacked them with a snow shovel?

Yeah. It didn't happen. They shot him through the door of his own home. And then arrested him. And then lied about it. Again.

And they almost shot some kids in the process.
They just blindly shot through the fucking door.

The idea that the Court should operate entirely in secret is a modern phenomenon. The idea that the Court should be separated from the public is a modern phenomenon. Earlier generations did not accept a powerful, isolated & secretive Court and we shouldn't either 1/6

I genuinely have no idea how to convey this to the American people, but I think the biggest impediment to any kind of immigration reform is that people are convinced that "legal" and "illegal" are immutable, intrinsic categories instead of a rapidly-shifting arbitrary constellation of regulations.

Epstein is the most garish and harrowing manifestation of this but oligarchy makes life miserable in a thousand other ways. A core point of democracy is that no one should have so much power that they can make themselves everybody's problem. We should have a political party that believes that
The Epstein emails should really end the debate over whether society should have billionaires. "Do you want there to be a class of people so powerful they can fuck your kids and no one will even try to do anything" seems like an easy sell if everyone in politics wasn't trying to get on their payroll

If DeWine supports Haitians in Ohio, it’s time for him to consult his god, understand he will never be president but he can be defender of free people and America in a way most presidents will never be, and do everything in his power to keep the ravenous monsters who run his party out of his state
DeWine has been a big supporter of the Haitian immigrants in Springfield. He has provided funds for support services and housing improvements all along. He is a traditional Catholic along the lines of the current Pope and emphasizes charity. He is also from a neighboring town to Springfield.
