It really is 'behemoth' time. Again, highly reccomending Shir Hever's latest teach-in on Jadaliyya, for an insight into what is going on within the Israeli State right now.https://www.jadaliyya.com/Details/47003/Israels-Zombie-Economy-Part-5-The-Disinformation-Bubble-13-November-2025

This was a fantastic talk-very moving. I look forward to reading the book.
Prof Roisín Higgins delivered her inaugural lecture at Maynooth University, titled Sensations of Conflict: Writing a Sensory History of the Troubles. The lecture explored how people experienced & remember the Northern Ireland conflict through the senses.

Lest we forget the tricky molars at the back.
Where does @remembrancewatch.bsky.social stand on this?

Chicagoans never stop. I was just watching a live stream of a press conference held by community members in front of FBI headquarters. In the rain in the dark. Umbrellas at hand they are calling for the release of 6 people taken by ICE, 3 also arrested by CPD. They never stop fighting.

What an amazing essay from the former chair of Africana Studies at Bowdoin. I'll share a few sections in the reply but seriously, read the whole thing. It's all insightful and beautifully written.

And now they want their ‘items’ back, British Museum.
After the theft where the British Museum couldn’t trace all 1500 stolen items, now this from Egypt. Oh …

But in battalions.

Easily several hundred people have packed into this plaza in Chicago's North Center tonight in response to ICE abducting a daycare worker early this morning.

This is a neighborhood that has largely been spared until now from the "Midway Blitz" terror campaign. But everyone knows someone affected.

A daycare. Every day in Chicago. The state is not stopping this. Pritzker’s and Johnson’s cops have ONLY been protecting these assaults so there is so far nothing that is stopping them besides unarmed residents screaming. How many children are technically orphans now @govpritzker.illinois.gov?

😂 This is such splendid denial. Basically, "the people are just GENERALLY angry and simply happened to express it by registering their absolute loathing for us. I get that. We are on the same page. I also absolutely loathe myself."
Mike Johnson: "I don't think the loss last night was any reflection about Republicans at all. I think people are frustrated and angry, as we are, I am, the president is, and we express that in different ways."
