It's an evergreen debate over kitchen tables and the airwaves across the country. At school, we are taught the first day of Spring is St Brigid's Day on February 1, but Met Éireann proudly declares March 1 as the day. So who's right?

Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange rain warning for Dublin, Wicklow, and Louth, and a Status Yellow rain warning for Kildare and surrounding counties for tomorrow, Friday 6 February. Heavy rainfall may result in localised flooding, river flooding and difficult travel conditions.
