Eyeballing this, it looks like Trump II would actually have started in Trump I, but it got interrupted by the pandemic...
Habeas cases filed by immigrants claiming their detention is illegal have taken off to levels we have never seen before. Just look at that chart.

When we get out the other side of this, we should think seriously about making signs like this permanent, like the plaques in Paris that tell you that you're standing on the exact spot where a resistance fighter was shot down by the Nazis in 1944.

Strictly speaking, I don't think he cares about that. He's covering up Donald Trump's (and a cast of many others) crimes committed in the vicinity of Jeffrey Epstein.
"Do you think Trump is covering up Jeffrey Epstein's crimes?"

Yes: 52%
No: 30%

The Internet is so scary to authoritarians precisely because it allows people outside their reach to say things that they don't like.

I stand with County Executive Calvin Ball as he signs emergency legislation today prohibiting privately owned buildings from being used as ICE detention centers.

Would like the #USPS to try to explain this:
(and also why it will not let me submit a help request online even though it's been more than 24 hours and I still don't have the first package).

Giving them way too much credit. The first time you visit any civilian shooting range in this country, you will be obliged to watch a safety presentation focused on (a slightly different wording) of The Three Rules of Firearm Safety.
Ah, I think I see the problem. These guys didn't do FBI firearm training. They did Angry Divorced Dad With a Bunch of DV Calls Who's Usually Drunk by 4pm firearm training.
Three rules in FBI firearm training:

1. Always point your weapon downrange
2. Do not point your weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot
3. Don’t put your finger on the trigger unless you intend to shoot

Guns are not for threatening compliance for unarmed people doing things you don’t like

History will remember Will Stancil as a giant who recognised the moment America was living through, and rose up to challenge it, and history will not remember a single LARPing American Communist at all. They won't even be a footnote in the story.

What real heroism looks like is you drive past a school and it’s 7am and it’s -3 out and there are four dads posted at every door scanning every passing car to be sure it’s not someone coming to take the children. And you drive by at noon and they’re there. And you drive by at 3pm and they’re there
Anyway the real heroes of Minnesota are the countless volunteers doing boring shifts where nothing happens. The mom of three delivering food to 40 families in her kids’ school. The dad standing at the door of an elementary with a whistle for hours. The drivers endlessly looping, seeing nothing.

If the black bloc actually had a useful purpose, it would be doing things that carry much harsher penalties than setting dumpsters on fire; things for which they should expect broad condemnation rather than approval. But those acts would also be risky and they are just cowardly cosplayers.

It is genuinely amazing that this man ever gets through a single day without getting punched in the face, including by his allies. The content of what he says aside, we are looking at the apotheosis of smug here.

Bleg for al #boardgame podcasters - please learn how reflexive pronouns work. "X and myself did Y" - no you didn't. "I did Y to myself," or "X and I did Y".

I hear this type of error several times a week.

"Should you own weapons" is basically orthogonal to "should you protest peacefully." I'd argue the answer to both is yes. Peaceful protest seems likely to win in this case, but that doesn't mean it wins in every case. 1/2
Nonviolence worked for the Civil Rights movement and is working here, but this should not be presented as some law of the universe. The Jews and Roma of Europe would not have been any less slaughtered if they'd just held more nonviolent protests.

There is a whole genre of "you don't need to eat so much protein" articles lately, and while OTOH I understand the need to counteract RFK2-sponsored idiocy, I am a 47-year-old male who is about 50% muscle by mass. I do, in fact, need to eat that much protein.

Some interesting incentives now where if you are a legal gun owner in a carry state, it is probably worse for your personal safety but better for the antifascist movement in general to to go out armed (but never draw your weapon).

I am at 'imprison ICE.'
Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.
