tbh I’d bet the fatal decision making here happened back when interest rates went up in 2022 and sunk cost fallacy is the only reason they shipped.
it's insane to me as someone who watched the live service model grow into what it is today that these kinds of games aren't even given a month to live and potentially grow and gain and audience when something like league or fortnite didn't blow up overnight.

So many game studios are launching games with impossible expectations. New AAA games have like 1 month to be one of the most profitable new games of the year or else they lay everyone off.

i think about this constantly. tradwife culture absolutely is a kink and no one will acknowledge that it's basically a 24/7 BDSM arrangement but done in an extremely unsafe and dangerous way.
