We have a Canada Health Act. What we don't have is a federal government willing to enforce it.
Conservative led provinces are funneling our tax dollars into private, for profit, healthcare. They’re breaking the public system so that can say it’s broken and bring in even more privatization. We need to vote them out and demand their replacements roll back privatization!
Canadian Institute for Health Information shows that, since 2015, the number of family doctors per capita has increased both nationally & in every province — except Alberta & Ontario #Canada

It is with deep sadness that I have to report the passing of Chip Berlet. He was one of the few people to consistently research and organize against the U.S. Far Right from the 1970s through the '00s. His co-authored 2000 book "Right-Wing Populism in America" unfortunately remains all-to-relevant.
Chip Berlet (1949-2026)

When neo-fascists began to be followed and recorded, it was Chip that was the one who made the first moves. He gave us the blueprint that antifascist researchers go by today. Thank you, Chip, we will take it from here.

LNG Canada’s facility in Kitimat, B.C., burned more than 1.7 million cubic metres of gas on a single day in September.

While that day was an outlier, documents obtained through a freedom of information request reveal the facility consistently burned 15 times more gas per day than expected.

That's the bigger story and the context for the Epstein stuff - we've allowed so much concentration of power that money and connections are treated as if they override *everything*, from morality to physics.

It's no wonder they 🤬ed up with COVID when power entitles these people to deny reality.
Happy International Women's Day!

A reminder that this specific screwup has now killed ~25 million people.

A world that allows an influential, entitled, ignorant man to just shout down a smarter and more knowledgeable woman 👉can literally kill you.👈

The Carney govt's rhetoric and actions here directly feed into anti-immigrant sentiment, xenophobia and, ultimately, white supremacy. The govt's implicit message helps drive some really ugly momentum.

Mark Carney must see courting Pierre Poilievre's young white male base as worth the trade-off.

#BillC-15 would allow federal ministers to exempt any entity from federal law or regulations, other than the Criminal Code. This exemption is determined by the relevant minister.
