Unlike you, I can read and that’s why I know what the constitution says.
Trump on Ilhan Omar: "I look at somebody who comes from Somalia...and she comes in and tells us how to run our country. 'The Constitution says this, the Constitution says that.' The whole thing is crazy."

What Canadians get and Americans don't, yet. Republicans are treating congress in a way familiar to Canadians, ie, like parliament . Democrats are treating congress, like the old congress. Parliaments are adversarial. Republicans get that. Democrats (well their leaders) do not understand that.

Petin is safe say Vichy Senators.
“There’s no real appetite to oust Schumer, though. Nor is there any interest from another Democrat to challenge him, according to interviews with more than a dozen Democratic senators.” @punchbowlnews.bsky.social

Oh Sen Dems are not in disarray - they are in array - in their collective cowardice.

If the Democrats gain any more victories like this one, the Republic is finished.
Democratic Senator Shaheen says ending the shutdown wasn't a failure because it achieves a later vote that will get Republicans on the record.

"Americans...are gonna know who's on their side and who is not."

And rightly so . Congratulations to provincial governments who are too afraid of antivaxxers to to their job.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Canada has lost its measles elimination status because of continued spread, international health experts say.

Angus King, surrender monkey.
Angus King: "This initial strategy didn't work. And now we have one. We're gonna have a guaranteed vote on the ACA, and it may not succeed. I grant that. But a reasonable chance -- 10, 20, 30% -- is a lot better than 0% which is where we were."

Trump's thank you to Chuck Schumer.
Trump's pardons include 77 people but could include others not named, the document said. Presidential pardons only apply to federal charges and do not apply to state cases 4/5

The Baileys told him so.
MSNBC reported Schumer's office felt that the longer that shutdown went on, the more likely it was that people would start to blame the Dems.

My kingdom for Democrats that don't govern out of fear. I've said it before and I'll say it again: The American people are far braver than their reps.

It acts as a safety valve for discontent, in a system rigged in favour of the oligarchs.
What is the point of a political party that will not fight for the people?
November 10, 2025 at 12:51 PM
Nah, hatred implies they care. It's more like "indifferent."
Nobody in American politics hates their own voters more than the Democratic Party

Democrats: : "We fight until we quit."
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

Pathetic
Agree.

Sen Hassan, asked what will happen if Republicans don't carry out the deal, "Well, shame on them."

This is not what people were mobilizing for on Oct 18.

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

even when the democratic party has leverage and one of the craziest election swings the party intentionally self immolates it’s just so exhausting what is even the point of these people

Genius !
How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

Turnout next year is going to be brutal.
Chris Murphy: "There will be pretty substantial damage to a Dem brand that has been rehabilitated if on the heels of an election in which the people told us to keep fighting, we immediately stop... if we surrender without having gotten anything, I worry it'll be hard to get them back up off the mat"

The original Dem demands were:
1) Permanent ACA subsidies
2) Medicaid funding restored
3) No more blank checks for the regime (rescission)

They dropped Medicaid immediately. Went silent on rescission. Cut back to 1 year of subsidies on Friday. And surrendered today.

The Senate Democrats!

okay, so, with Dems successfully keeping anyone up in 2026 for voting for this turd let's take a look at who's up in 2026 anyway:

1. Cory Booker - apparently involved behind the scenes, constantly looking for bipartisanship. I don't dislike him personally but he doesn't have what we need. Primary.
