We live in a society run by folks trying very hard to bend reality to suit their ends & egos to a greater extent than ever before (as a country we've always preferred revisionist history). Speak the truth (especially to kids), archive books & films, & do all in your power to counter their ignorance!

Today was a tweaks & edits day for #TheSixDomains. I made a few adjustments & plugged some holes. I'm now gearing up to write the next section, on ancestries in The Six - how standard Daggerheart ones are altered to suit the setting, and some that are unique to the place! Onward & upward!

I think about this all the time, actually. I spent much of the last 25 years trying to get other people to see it before it was too late. Clearly, I failed.
You ever just think about how part of why we got here is because the Democrats have never been a functional opposition party? Because they have been and still are too tied to capitalism and imperialism to function as anything but the establishment?

I have never had someone else voice my thoughts so perfectly when it comes to people's strange takes on art, work, & being in the ttrpg space. I'm out here doing my best and other people who create something better aren't my "competitors", they're my colleagues. I'm here to create, to do, to be me.

Okay, serious face, though:

If we actually do want to move the way we talk about TTRPGs "forward" on the theory front, develop that more beyond the bounds of academia, here's what we need to do:

Start treating clarified views of gaming as distinct lenses you can put on and take off.

Thinking a lot about this. This cuts to a lot of disconnects I've had in gaming circles at points. In a pretty good niche now (love y'all!) but it's interesting to me how many people have *one* way to engage. Because it's alien to me. I'm the Motif/SNAP! indie guy. And I LOVE Classic Battletech.

Holy shit. This a win.
BREAKING: The Department of Education has ended its directive that attempted to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in schools nationwide.

This is a victory for academic freedom and education equity.

Little advice? If a player character has a skill that lets them peek into the beyond, like premonitions or visions, a fair amount of them want you to hit them with those peeks at the most random of times.

Ask at session zero, and if so, bombard them! After all, it doesn’t all need to be true. 😈

It sure seems like when we have our basic needs met, and don't have to hustle to survive, humans will almost always choose to create art.

And there is a lot of evidence that when a society decides to honor and promote art and artists, everyone who lives there is measurably happier.
I regularly see people wondering how it's possible that there are so many musicians and writers and film makers and artists from a tiny nation like Iceland.

And the answer is really simple: State funding for art education and artists. I literally get a salary from the government to write books.
I’m constantly astounded at the sheer level of artistic production coming out of Iceland. Novels, movies, music. Amazing.

Great to see that Ryan Dancey's embrace of plagiarizing AI and his denigration of the games created for his company was a step too far for AEG.

Now we can happily buy games like the "Let's Go to Japan" sequel without having to worry about them being AI slop.
Today I want to share that Ryan Dancey and AEG have parted ways.
This is not an easy post to write. Ryan has been a significant part of AEG’s story, and I am personally grateful for the years of work, passion, and intensity he brought to the company. We have built a lot together.

I have reached a truly brilliant point in my current rewatch of Star Trek: TNG. The end of season 3, and The Best of Both Worlds, Part 1. 🖖

I have heard people talking about how Starfleet Academy keeps showing the cadets are smarter than the adults too me I have been taking that as the teachers letting the students figure things out mostly on their own instead of just telling them what to do. I know I learn better that way. 🖖
