Listening to Tilda Swinton read Nan Shepherd's A Living Mountain and it's fine except you can hear the italics on every Gaelic and Scots word (even if they're pronounced right) and generally it feels odd to hear a voice so anchored in Scotland read in a smooth RP accent

If you’re in the UK and were born between 1970-1990 you can just go to your GP and get revaccinated for MMR because you may have had single vaccines, which are no longer considered valid. I went & did it this summer. Easy way to help protect yourself & your community.
If you are worried this is too big an executive function barrier you can go to a pharmacy and they will probably just jab you. That is what I did.

I'm not saying it's necessarily the right way to do this, that is just how much I am not fucking around with the measles
Go to your doctor and get your measles titers checked to make sure you are still immune and if not get re-vaccinated. It’s more and more likely all of us are going to eventually come in contact with it.

Day 13 of TVY Advent
Embroidery sets!
www.thirdvaultyarns.com/ourshop/prod...
If you've seen TVY at shows often we'll have a box, or a teacup of embroidery skeins for you to choose from, but they've not existed on the website until now, so if embroidery is your thing, this is for you 🥰.

This is probably the largest art I've made in a long time; it's 16x48 inches at 300dpi. All of the animals are inspired by petroglyphs and cave art from around the world on top of the shapes found within the animals themselves. #art #caveart #petroglyph #deer #wolves #ravens #raven #wolf #elk

Can't wait for what I bet will be a fascinating discussion
This Thursday at 6pm GMT I'm giving a lecture with the wonderful @archaeoplays.bsky.social about how to conceive and build living images of the past. All the in-person tickets have been snapped up, but you can still watch online for free (I think via Zoom)

Carved in Stone: Bringing the Picts to Life
This hybrid discussion panel will feature Stout Stoat’s Brian Tyrell and ArchaeoPlays’ Dr Heather Christie FSAScot.

Feeling super nauseous today but when I dragged myself out I randomly saw a treecreeper, which has been on my list for ages! Really cheered me and I got a bunch more work done

I'm very happy to be home again but after a day of laundry and shopping and checking in on friends I'm so tired I'm slowly falling asleep on the couch clutching my fancy new yarn that smells delightfully of woodsmoke and sheep

When I was taught to write resumes in German high school photo + relationship status was standard, and ~5 years ago I was reliably informed that a sleeveless dress w/o a cardi to cover my shoulders would be inappropriate for an interview.

Europe has so many ways it screens "undesirables"
You're missing a couple of steps here.

No degree, no job.

And in France you're supposed to put your photo on the resume.

In France there are lots of ways to weed you out before you're ever hired.

A #PudgyHorse tribute to the Lascaux cave paintings, painted with the Strata Trio watercolours made by @thoughtsupnorth.bsky.social from Cretaceous rocks from the Albertan badlands. From 2020.

Might as well post this one as it's been stolen and sold on Australian Temu. 🙃

Now that I've learned to read for joy again, I need to learn how to stop

A lot of what I read is cosy stuff, but lots of it has such a narrow soft focus that it becomes distracting to me. I need to know more about supply chains for your magical small business or I will lose immersion, sorry
