Where Batman meets Henry James.
I showed Jeanne Dielman back in the 80s. Would have killed for feedback like this.
This is feedback we film programmers live for

There's more bright colors in this than the entire actual film.

Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

Today's person upset at trivial thing is guy on FB annoyed at Steam's Black Friday sale and goes on for *pages*, listing dozens of items that should or shouldn't be on sale, comparisons to past sales and general grumpiness.

Hardly any traffic this morning. It's lovely. People must already be gone on vacation.

Uh wow just wow. This is an astonishing story and just gets more so as it goes. Seriously, get to the end. (I checked and Wikipedia supports it.)
On May 11, 1950, while working on the Rawlins National Bank in Wyoming, a construction crew unearthed a whiskey barrel that contained a human skeleton with its skull cap sawed off & an odd pair of shoes. Dr. Lillian Heath, now in her 80s, was asked if she knew anything about it...🧵

Driving back from Alabama there was a station that went from Guns N' Roses to Steely Dan. That was certainly something.

A friend is a huge true crime fan and I said (probably pretty dismissively) that it doesn't interest me. Then realized that's not true - just that it's only crimes about a century old with exceptions for things like Black Dahlia or Zodiac. But give me the Benders or New Orleans axeman etc.

Felt like I let down the server at the Szechuan place today when I ordered General Tso's chicken. But it was lunch and I just wanted something plain. Today was not the day to try blood curd (a real item on their menu).

Many fans - I adore Jane Austen. All those clothes and they way they talk and lovers finding their way to each other. Just so cute.

Jane Austen - I believe I shall open this novel with an entire chapter about money, income, inheritance and the resulting power dynamics.

Facebook is showing me an ad for a place in London. That's London, England. Y'know over 4000 miles away, completely different continent, that London.

When I worked at a bookstore, I quickly learned that people cannot tell the difference between Xmas music and any Baroque or Elizabethan music album that doesn't get too organ-ish. I used this to my advantage.

One customer caught on... AND THANKED ME
If we had to hear “Baby Shark” everywhere we went for two whole months out of the year we’d throw a fit, right?

And rightfully so.

So tell me, why do we put up with it when the song is “Frosty the Snowman”?

Started a haunted house novel that seemed promising and first couple of chapters were solid. But I'm about a third way through and it's mostly description of the house and planned renovations. (I started skimming.) Wonder what the writer was thinking?

BBC headline mentioned Radiohead playing their hits and I thought really? Looked it up and while in US they had two songs that barely scraped the bottom of Top 40, in the UK they had seven Top 10 songs.

Learn something new every day. Usually something I don't want to know but here we are.

Heard that 8675309 (like the song) is prime so checked. Google AI says no and offers a long explanation. But it is in fact prime. You'd think AI could get rudimentary math questions correct.

In Spinal Tap the description (it's never actually shown) of the rejected Smell the Glove cover sounds an awful lot like the cover of new Sabrina Carpenter album.
