‹ Michael Review 000 Michael Sharp PRO Kiss Me Deadly 1955 DEADLY Rewatched Nov 19, 2025 Taught this movie today and quickly realized that trying to explain its greatness makes you sound like an insane person. "Ok so the plot is convoluted beyond belief and the situations and characters are so preposterous that they border on camp at times and the Great Whatsit is an absolutely bonkers scifi McGuffin and the main character is a completely unlikable creep and sometimes there are shot decisions that only a demented person would make and the sound isn't even synced right in a couple places ... and yeah it's the greatest piece of filmed entertainment of the 1950s. Any questions?"

One thing I noticed when reading Salem's Lot this summer is that e-reader backlighting, for me, is not compatible with horror. I need an aged, yellowed paperback with a ratty cover and the smell of decay. Cursed objects are important.
