AlO- got this birthday card from husband TCAN'T ΗέAR Yoυ AND YOU'RE WRONG. I (F) have been with my husband for 23 years, married 14. Things have not been good for a while, not between us and in general for me. He knows I'm incredibly unhappy and that I've been struggling with burnout, overwhelm and stress for a long time- largely because of how little he does to keep the house running (nothing), how little interest he shows me and the kids in the day-to-day (none) and so on. I'm sure you get the gist, every divorced woman I've ever spoken to has been there. Today is my birthday, and I hate my birthday, it always makes things worse. I'm in my mid-40s, which is a scary age (for me) especially in these circumstances. I feel like I would probably feel better about it if I didn't feel so unsettled, but anyway, not much I can do about it. My husband is 3.5 years younger than me. He's dined out on this for years, and to be honest it's getting old- particularly as it's not like he's 15 years younger, just 3.5. The gap might have meant a bit more in our 20's, but now we're both well over 40 it's not really a thing worth thinking about anymore, surely? I should add as well, that I have auditory processing disorder and that congenital age-related deafness runs in my family. My grandad and my dad both went partially deaf in their 60's and I've noticed a drop in hearing since my mid-30's. Again, not something I can do a huge lot about it, but it's upsetting to never be able to hear what my kids are saying when they start chatting to me in the car and I do genuinely worry about how this will affect me as I get older. Anyway, this is the card my husband got me this morning. NGL, I cried. A lot. He ripped it to bits and threw it in the bin, apologised saying he was making a joke, but it feels so off the mark to me that I don't
