Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

I truly don’t get the appeal of podcasts having to be video now. Podcasts are at their very best when you’re doing something else, working out or playing videogames etc, and no good podcaster has ever been someone who should be shown on screen that’s just not how that works. It’s a goblin job.

I have so many complaints about Substack and none of my close friends use it much. No one to vent to IRL so I guess I’ll do it here. My goodness that platform has some of the worst UX.

True and not true. A Harris win would have been a long and very hard four years-kicking the can down the road so to speak. The same Dems who won’t fight now wouldn’t have done much with power, which is a big reason why we’re in this position.
Any solution now is going to be long & difficult. There was a super-easy solution -- just don't let the guy win the election -- but everybody had other priorities, I guess, so here we are.
