One of the major studios was casting for a bio pic of the great composers, and thought Schwarzenegger would be a great Brahms. He demurred. "I'll be Bach."

The previous president was forced to drop out of running for re-election because of concerns over cognitive decline, all while sounding far more coherent than this.
"Helicopter pilots were wounded pretty badly in the legs landing on the couple of machine gunners seemed to have make it through a thicket of bombs. But they were taken out rapidly by our snipers who stationed on platforms. Hellu-- actually unbelievable, helicopter platforms all the way the line"

"More than half the Boone County voters identified as noncitizens were actually citizens."

"DHS has pooled confidential data from across the federal government to enable states to mass-verify voters’ citizenship status using SAVE."

Also relied on by ICE and their facial recognition apps.

“Not Ready for Prime Time.” A Federal Tool to Check Voter Citizenship Keeps Making Mistakes.
The Department of Homeland Security pushed out the revamped tool while it was still adding data. That led to widespread misidentification, particularly for citizens born outside the U.S.

The copy of Les Miserables I read in the 1980's wouldn't fit in a pocket, but it WAS something you could hold and read while straphanging; you would never want to do that with the copy I saw in my local independent yesterday.

I guess I need to add Infinite Jest to my queue. But ahead of it (so far) are Cloud Atlas; Heather Ann Thompson's book on Bernie Goetz and white rage ("Fear and Fury"); and Bolano's 2666... I need to make sure nothing else squeezes its way in.

No shit, we're in dark times; and if we don't maintain our hope we are lost. I think the history of Leiden and how they endured the Spanish siege is a good guide. Also? When the Spaniards retreated, the celebration wasn't with champagne, but a simple feast of herring and white bread. Be there for it

You see, they're sending them to a camp in TX, where abortion is illegal, because "pro-life."

"Some were as young as 13, and at least half of those taken in so far became pregnant as a result of rape... Their pregnancies are considered high risk by definition, particularly for the youngest girls."

In a reality-based world this would force a stated change in news outlets' policies not to ever use the phrase "DHS says" until their claim can be proven independently, but journalists' pro-police bias ("why would they lie, they have badges") remains a reliably strong constant in regime coverage
Marimar Martinez was shot by Border Patrol five times.

DHS accused her of being a domestic terrorist.

She went to court to get the body cam footage released.

It shows Agent Charles Exum driving with his gun drawn.

Saying “do something b*tch”.

Ramming her car.

Shooting her.

It shows DHS lied.

Fuentes, yesterday: “Our #1 political enemy is women because women constrain everything, every conversation, every man, everything. They have to be imprisoned. They are the ones that are hurting the fertility rate. They're the ones making us sympathetic to poor people, which are also brown people.”
Nick Fuentes: “The number one political enemy in America is women. … They have to be imprisoned.”

The AG thinks that what Congress should be talking about -- while it conducts oversight of the Department of JUSTICE -- is the stock market. Does she not know what department she oversees?
This is utterly deranged behavior from a U.S. attorney general
