As Sheriff she has actively made the Hennepin County Government center a less safe place by helping ICE abduct people. This will have a long lasting impact in making immigrants less likely to feel safe reporting any crimes that happen to them and less likely to show up to court for any reason.
Hennepin County Sheriff Dawanna Witt at press conference just now says no policies have changed. Says Tom Homan asked for changes in the jail, she did not agree to any changes. Frustrated at "influential leaders" for spreading misinformation and not calling and asking her.
