I agree with Genie's assessment re: Greenland on this angle but it's also exactly the problem. Those billionaires ARE stateless actors. Which means their not allies either. They've merely subcontracted an evil and aggressively unintelligent regime to do their dirty work for them.
What people in this threat aren't realizing is that the United States isn't working alone.
It's working with the Network State which already started working to colonize nations across the globe.

—protect abortion rights
—repeal the same-sex marriage ban
—allow mid-decade redistricting
—greatly expand voting rights restoration.
These will all go to 2026 referendums.
