Over my more than 30 years as a creative professional, I have slowly learned to be very wary of people who put a lot of time and energy into creating and nurturing a public persona.

I have often found that there is something really bad hiding behind that persona.

So an odd thing here is that if you say "an unidentified man dressed in a Batman costume" your point is to communicate "it is not really Batman" but the problem is that the real Batman, within the fiction of the comic book "Batman", is also, literally, an unidentified man dressed in a Batman costume
An unidentified man dressed in a Batman costume angrily confronted Santa Clara city officials during a joint meeting of the City Council, city authorities, and the Santa Clara Stadium Authority on Monday, using his public comment to condemn the city’s stance on cooperation with ICE.

People complain a lot about super-hero movies (and to an extent they're right; there are good super-hero movies out there, but they've been few and far between these last several years). But mark my words, what will really kill Hollywood is the flood of awful musician biopics.

This seems like a maliciously put headline to make people feel a certain way.

Wikipedia is not partaking in generative AI. They are making AI companies and scrappers having to pay for training their modules off wikipedia texts. And having an AI (not that ai) tasked with updating dead links.

It was thrown by the friend of an ex-thing
I wasn't sure if I should go
But when I got up in the place
There were smiles all up and down
Grabbed my ex in the kitchen
Told her I was sorry I came
But she looked at me with a blank smile and said

Sometimes I think about the fact that before Steve Aoki was a world-renown DJ he held small punk shows at his apartment known as "Pickle Patch" with acts like Botch, Elliott, and Discount, and Cross My Heart playing shows there and it kinda blows my mind.

The assembly craved relief
But he himself had given up

It's been fascinating to learn that just about every case study I learned in high school psychology class, from the Stanford Prison experiment to any number of Oliver Sacks' cases are in fact total bullshit.
Incredible piece on Oliver Sacks. If you were ever awed at his supposedly true stories (I remember being stunned by the account of the autistic twins who rattled off large prime numbers), read this. He told wonderful stories, but they were in large part fiction.
