"I will show those doctors who say I'm killing children now by killing more children in the future"
RFK Jr. has cancelled grants to the American Academy of Pediatrics because “they no longer align with departmental priorities”.

The grants were on such topics as “reducing sudden infant death, rural access to health care, and mental health…”

The AAP has criticized RFK Jr. That’s the real reason.

2025 was the year millions of Americans awoke to the danger of state surveillance, violent policing, rights erasure, online censorship, ideological funding cancellations and retaliatory doxxing.

None of this was new to sex workers.

If there's not rights for everyone, there's rights for no one.
(1/3) Until s*x workers are safe, none of us are safe.

Tomorrow on #D17, International Day to End Violence Against S*x Workers, we honor the workers we've lost to violence and stand firm in our commitment to decriminalization.

ICE repeatedly questioning and detaining Native Americans is proof the raids aren’t targeting people based on their citizenship status, but on the color of their skin.

ICE are settlers on Native land.

This framing is dishonest. It was a bipartisan bill. Enough Republicans actually defected and voted no to kill the bill. Three Democrats crossed over to save it.

They should be stripped of their committee assignments and thrown out of the party, quite frankly.
Today House Republicans voted 216-211 to pass MTG’s bill to criminalize gender-affirming care for minors nationwide, marking the first time a national ban on care for trans youth has reached — and passed — the House floor.

Just now, a national trans healthcare felony ban for youth has passed the US House, with 10 year prison terms.

3 Dems crossed party lines to vote to jail providers.

4 GOP crossed party lines to vote against.

It is not expected to pass the Senate, where Dems hold filibuster power.

Story to come.

Larry Bushart spent 37 days in jail — all because he posted a meme after Charlie Kirk's murder. He was held on an outlandish $2 million bail.

And now it's time for Sheriff Nick Weems and Perry County to face the consequences for violating Bushart's First Amendment rights.

Happens so often when the media starts paying attention to a high-profile case, people hear about some kind of police/prosecutorial misconduct, and IMMEDIATELY go to "there's something conspiratorial going on re: this specific case" and not "this happens all the time and mostly nobody gives a shit"

This does not make him innocent but wow that's a 'bad fact' for the case.

I'm not sure I've ever seen anything with a larger disconnect between the executive class and the general public than AI - there have been cases where executives want to push something they know is unpopular, but on AI it's like the backlash hasn't penetrated their bubble at all
What gets me about executives at movie/videogame studios being taken aback at consumer backlash to AI is that they seem genuinely surprised that we like the human beings that make the things that we like
