Hysterical. At the same time Emmer is making this statement, the police department in Bloomington, MN is announcing their second arrest of an ICE agent operating a pedophile ring in just a few months. His descriptive words fit ICE to a T.

For AAPI communities, the stakes cannot be higher. Under Noem, ICE has arrested more than triple the number of Asian immigrants. At least eight of them have died in detention. And in Minnesota, ICE and DHS are going to door to door, hunting down Hmong American people and other immigrants of color

"I'm proud to represent Team USA. But we'd be remiss if we didn't mention what's going on in Minnesota and what a tough time it's been. What's happening is wrong. There's no shades of gray."

And tv and movies will continue to portray defense attorneys as smarmy people with minimal ethics because tv and movies are inherently conservative these days.
Don Lemon has hired as one of his defense lawyers a former senior federal prosecutor who just resigned from the U.S. attorney's office in Minnesota in mid-January over the Justice Department's handling of the Trump admin immigration operation. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/10/u...

The problem with them choosing this as their primary talking point is that nearly every in Minnesota personally knows someone who has been taken by ICE. And they all had either a spotless criminal record or an entirely non-violent one.

These are lies. They are going to lose. MN will not quit.

And it's worth using the term "myth" quite deliberately because of course the reality of as diverse and complex a place like Texas has only a passing resemblance with the fantastical machismo that it has become associated with in the imagination of the MAGA and global Far Right

Hot take: People should closely read Trump admin complaints rather than reciting whatever it is DHS writes in a tweet.

If they did, they might have found a very interesting story here. Thanks to @jsweetli.bsky.social for digging in here for @zeteo.com

NEW: The Trump admin publicized the arrest of an "antifa domestic terrorist," implying he was charged with threatening federal agents. But the criminal complaint suggests Kyle Wagner was charged with Instagram beefing with controversial rightwing agitator Jayden Scott.

I keep yelling about this every time I see it and I see it A LOT. I yell b/c inaccurate language in headlines irritates me but more especially because:
THE BAD GUYS (gender-neutral) ARE PURPOSELY DECEPTIVE IN USING THE TERM "IMMIGRATION"! THEY'VE BEEN DOING IT FOR YEARS! STOP FUCKING ENABLING IT!
they are not "immigration enforcement efforts" @georgiarecorder.com because they do not target people who have broken immigration laws. They target by race and the turmoil is about violent racism and broader intimidation. Please, update your style guide!
At a time of national turmoil over federal immigration enforcement efforts, representatives of Georgia’s Latino community showed up at the state Capitol Thursday to demonstrate their growing political clout in the battleground state.

Here's what DHS doesn't want you to know: Working for ICE is one of the safest jobs in America — and last year was the second-safest year for the agency on record.

And the doxxing? It hasn't actually happened even once.

The masks are justified by a lie. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/ice-s-mask...

And people respond by inviting me, a non expert with no skin in the game, to debate trans people on their podcast.

Hell of a flex for your tenure file.
Not at all surprised to learn that Bad Bunny has a historical adviser. His halftime show was a reminder that our history and culture are deeply intertwined with the rest of the western hemisphere. We should think of his performance as part of #America250. #SuperBowl

Bad Bunny’s performance began in the plantation, featured broken electric poles, and ended by centering a hemispheric understanding of “América”—among many other things—and some Anglo journalists are like “his performance wasn’t political.”

This is why we need to be telling our stories.
