Are all religious people "nuts?" Is that what you think the thesis of that argument is?

Your passionate, and done might say desperate, need to defend him here might also be stan logic. In your case, a parasocial relationship you've developed with a dead celebrity who does not need or require your defense.

It's gotta be frustrating for journalists scraping by and doing great work to go to NY Times dot com and read a puff piece written by a nepo baby that whitewashes a journalist who had sex with a source and has now parlayed that into a new book and a job at Vanity Fair

Yes, but it also loses them money. At some point people will wonder how they are trucking along with the loss of subscribers they must be seeing.

Keep exposing that the emperor has no clothes. Critical mass will be reached.

Not annoying, insulting. She described an sm timeout - something many posters with passionate opinions experience - as being "disappeared." At a time when the gov't is literally disappearing people. And black man with a similar post was permabanned.

True, but now Kendzior is playing the victim, and using language to describe her timeout that is... not good. I think there are no good guys here.

Actually that shows his ignorance more plainly. Changing your mind about an issue does not change your affiliation.

He seemed to have what we might call stan logic. A deep emotional investment with his tribe that prevented him from being able to see the pov of others.

Something the US needs to accept too is that without a large-scale correction imposing consequences on a large number of people, the crisis of governance here will continue indefinitely

Yes, red scare bs is wrong and bad, but pretending these are just regular scientists working independently, or regular companies designing or building like others isn't smart either.

Supporting Chinese business is supporting ethnic cleansing too. Divesting is good.

(So is divesting from the US rn)

The scientists themselves may be great, but the system they work under is oppressive and surveillance based. It's not like the conditions they work under now are different from 2020 when China was disappearing, killing ph workers who sounded the alarm.

Most cities have a real estate bubble. The housing stock is overvalued, and contributing to it causes active harm. Probably not a good idea.
