By that same token, I don't know of any practice where the people involved actively chafe against engaging with it on its own terms. You've got game designers who think design is a frivolity making games for people who think learning games is a hassle and being good at them is not desirable.
i struggle to think of any other creative medium where the very basic craft of the medium is so utterly disregarded that people sincerely argue that there is no such thing as 'being good at it'.
