Emily lives in a white house in the heart of the Midwest where an ancient farting dog blocks the hall and a ragged New Yorker — which she was reading while not doing what she should have been doing —sits on the scuffed coffee table. She lives in pathetic squalor, like a Tom Waits song come to life

Catherine my good bitch you guys are the only ones who do not know where the Republicans stand
Steve Inskeep: You think the Republicans voting with you here will not only agree to these measures, but actually try to do something if the administration ignores them?

Sen Cortez Masto: If they go back on their word, then the American public will know where the Republicans stand.

It is probably as effective as spitting into the wind but I’m writing Senate Dems who may be caving to ask WTF they’re thinking.

A pro-affordability, anti-Trump-corruption message unites the party. Every candidate can run on that, and every candidate can have their own take to fit that to their constituents. There's really no need to find fights to pick when the party agrees on more than it disagrees
Came here to say this, but Jamelle Bouie has this covered. 👇
When the Democratic tent includes candidates like Spanberger and Mamdani, there is no crisis, or fight, for the party. IT’S A COALITION, NOT A POINT ESTIMATE.
i want to repeat this: mamdani and spanberger have run similar campaigns tailored to their respective electorates and it is maddening to watch political journalists attempt to create some broad contrast where none exist

the other thing about this is that there is no reason to pit these candidates against each other? each are good fits for their respective electorates and each shows the value of vigorous campaigns focused on the stated material problems of voters.

Us white people never miss a chance to shame ourselves
What is horrible but unsurprising, is how much white people and men like what is going on.

(50+% of both those groups supported the GOP in exit polls in NY and NJ.)
People really hate what is going on
