GOOD NEWS! Researchers have made a HUGE breakthrough towards a UNIVERSAL antiviral. By targeting sugar molecules found on the surface of many viruses that SHARE structural similarities, they identified FOUR compounds that successfully BLOCKED infections from SEVEN different viruses.

"By the way, these countries shouldn’t have abortion restrictions either. Having abortion laws does not make them more enlightened; it is Canada that has set the standard worldwide, because abortion is a human right."

Shouting this from the rooftops every dang day.
Canada, abortion rights are under attack. The forced birthers are using the same strategies that worked in the U.S. open.substack.com/pub/vajenda/...

Just heard about this huge (49 state) long covid trial using tirzepetide (aka zepbound) one of the newer glp meds. It’s run by researchers at scripps, funded by the eric & wendy schmidt foundation. It looks like it is still enrolling, fully remote participation:

Things are kind of shit everywhere lately but tonight I am uplifted listening to the 600+ speakers who are calling on Vancouver Council to ditch their 0% property tax proposal in favour of tax increases to support the community and preserve services ❤️🥹

Make the Goddamn meal and put it in your Free Fridge. Write the $100 check to the food bank. Ask your local school what they need for the kids and then go about trying to get that stuff.... Do these things regularly and you are making meaningful contributions to your communities.

The reason we fight against fascism is because of love. Love for our friends and family. Our children deserve better than this. They deserve not to live in a place where they must fear getting shot. We love them. So we have to win. And in time, we will. The axe forgets but the tree remembers.

I really really needed to see that people hadn't given up and accepted this shit as inevitable, or (even worse) embraced it.

And today showed us that beautifully.

No one wanted in on his tank show, but people WERE HUNGRY to tell him to go fuck himself.

I go to bed tonight proud to know how many people are willing to stand up for what’s right — and how few are willing to rally for his hate.

Night, all, and let us try to be good to one another — and ourselves.

Love this!! I often do bail/jail support or am the emergency contact (best to have this person not protesting). I design/make signs that people can stop by and pick up since I have a bunch of materials. I try to gather and post local action items. We can and should be part of the movement!
Here are some tips for ways to “show up” when you aren’t able to show up in person, as well as suggestions for all of us for building more inclusive movements for social justice and human rights.

Tip I learned years ago from a longtime organizer who is also an attorney:

If you are not sure if a person approaching you is a cop, and you do not feel safe, drive to the nearest *fire department* and call 911 and tell them (don't ask) that you're stopping for the cop at a FD.

Here's why.

1. Fire departments often have cameras and are really bad places to commit violent crimes.

2. Fire departments are safer than police stations for marginalized people. They also have people trained in first aid.

3. It's hard to prove fleeing/eluding at trial when you drove to a fire department.

Support creative people. Buy their stuff. Share it on here. Music, art, words, whatever. Things made by humans for humans.

No food, aid, or fuel have entered Gaza since March 2.

Community kitchens have closed. Children are sick, thirsty, and starving.

Now Netanyahu’s government wants to occupy Gaza and shut down the existing aid distribution system run by the UN and its humanitarian partners.

Arms embargo now.

A reminder that every small bit of good you do - whether it be putting art into the world, helping a friend or stranger, donating to a good cause, or just listening to someone who needs to vent - offsets all the evil in the world just a little bit. And sometimes that's just what the world needs.
