Meg, too young to retire, lives in a decrepit house on the north shore, halfway up a mountain, & a dedicated copy of “Enshitification” & her art class syllabus - 2 things she reads while spreadsheeting - sit outside the door. She plans an art gallery vacation, like a Talking Heads song come to life.

Make the Goddamn meal and put it in your Free Fridge. Write the $100 check to the food bank. Ask your local school what they need for the kids and then go about trying to get that stuff.... Do these things regularly and you are making meaningful contributions to your communities.

1. Fire departments often have cameras and are really bad places to commit violent crimes.
2. Fire departments are safer than police stations for marginalized people. They also have people trained in first aid.
3. It's hard to prove fleeing/eluding at trial when you drove to a fire department.
