@patrick.risky.biz Thank you for today's chat with Chris and Alex on F5!

Discussion of trimming product lines also very interesting—I noticed that ~10 days after compromise was detected, F5 announced EOL of BIG-IP NEXT…

The assumption of deference from the press to the US government appears to be waning somewhat.
STEPHANOPOULOS: I didn't insinuate anything. I asked you whether Tom Homan accepted $50k as was heard on an audio tape recorded by the FBI in September 2024. You did not answer the question. Thank you for your time.

VANCE: No, George, I sai--

Does anyone here think that this person will tell the government something other than what they want to hear after conducting appropriate investigations to find out the ground truth?

Ok. They’ve pissed me off.

I’m back to tell you 3 things about ID cards:

1. Migrants ALREADY HAVE biometric ID cards & govts have been trying to digitise them for years w repeated fuckups & failures causing complete chaos - they don’t work, you do not want that system for you.

Earlier today, I tried to find a post I'd written a few years ago, because it has a useful checklist that I consult regularly.

You now can't search for it with the regular FB UI. The link to the URL endpoint has been removed.

The *total* bastards.
A couple of months ago, I wrote about how tech products are increasingly designed to frustrate the user when trying to find stuff.

Well, Facebook no longer lets you search for posts and organize (albeit algorithmically) by date.

My boss: Can't you get Copilot to validate the info in the spreadsheet?
Me: Well, do we want it to be accurate or not? Because either I check it myself or I ask Copilot and then check its output *and* the spreadsheet, so...
Boss: What's the point of Copilot then?
Me: Exactly.

What’s annoying is that journalists covering social media are almost allergic to pointing out this ludicrous level of bias because they’re invested in the idea of a marketplace of ideas and it makes them feel bad.
