A consequential photo. It captured such unacceptable state behavior, Florida Democrats defected to W. Bush, setting up the SCOTUS ruling which began our long constitutional crisis.
Remember 25 years ago when a photo was taken of a fed pointing a gun at a crying refugee child and the image was so shameful it dominated the news cycle for a year

Schumer sucks but also he's just an empty suit. Every senator went along with this deal and Schumer did not order them to nor is he capable of issuing such an order.

This hidden provision is so crooked and selfish, it doesn't even apply to US Representatives. Just US Senators.
Look at this new outrage. To open govt, we're retroactively letting 8 Senators sue for $500K each over having had their J6 phone toll records looked at. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/10/u...

And now they're saying, "people learned we are the party of healthcare."

Assuming this is the takeaway (it isn't), with the same effort, time, and result, they could have also become the "stop ICE," "save the CDC," and the "stop murdering Carribean fisherman" party.
We were told they couldn’t fight or even talk about anything else because health care was the winning hand.

If the outcomes aren't the most important thing, it's not even politics. Politics is literally about the outcomes. What he's describing here is cosplaying.

I missed this awful detail in the Senate deal: helping politicians who conspired against America as part of Trump's coup hide their phone records.
That's right, as ICE brutally violates rights in ways that leave people with no recourse, the Senate found time to protect their colleagues from justice.

Even tho 38 Democrats supposedly think this is a terrible deal that they wouldn't vote for, they all just agreed to move it forward rather than use procedural tools to slow it down.

That it only started 10 months ago will be news to the many activists who were expelled, fired, beaten, and arrested for their speech during the Biden administration.
Over the last 10 months, the federal government has cracked down on political expression with a persistence and viciousness reminiscent of some of the darkest periods of U.S. history. Welcome to the Third Red Scare.

Huh well it turns out I heard from a few federal workers about this and well

"We civil servants organized to help our colleagues face the hardship of the shutdown, we put up with the pain and our only request was to not be betrayed like this. Trade our pain, make it count."

They not only said this in March, they spent the last 6 months telling us all that everything else, from ICE kidnapping people off the streets to every bit of economic fuckery to genocides around the world, are all a distraction for *this fight* that they fucking folded on.

It's always the next vote. The next election. September. December. Tomorrow. Eventually.
That December vote is a huge moment we can turn into a victory. People are watching. Good bill, we win; they cheat, they will lose. If we fight united.

Doesn't care if you die so long as he doesnt get stuck in the airport 👇
I will not support the Republican bill that’s on the Senate floor because it fails to do anything of substance to fix America’s healthcare crisis.

The words of a man who consigned untold numbers of people to immiseration so he didnt have to cancel his holiday plans:
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

30 hours ago ACA subsidies expiring was *the* existential crisis for Americans and today its a "minor-league issue within the Democratic Party."
Tim Kaine is on MSNBC accusing Katy Tur of "overdramatizing" the way he and some other Democrats caved. "This is by far a minor-league issue within the Democratic Party," Kaine said.
He's completely out of touch, or just lying.

A fantastic investigation showing that the unit run by Greg Bovino, the Border Patrol agent in charge of racial profiling in LA and Chicago, is an outlier even in an agency already notorious for unnecessary use of force. Obama and Biden could have fired him, but didn't.

You aren't even 24 hours out from having given him everything he wants
First, Trump pardoned the violent insurrectionists who beat cops.

Now, he pardons the key instigators of January 6th.

We need to see this for what it is:

An attempt to erase history, so it can be repeated.

I wonder how many people are going to get sick or be hungry or have their lives completely ruined so Tim Kaine can have his glass of Maker's Mark on Thanksgiving.

Pretty much all affordability discourse could benefit from just posting this chart.

If you're in the better off America, all the luxury goods you want in excess are for the most part much cheaper. If you're in the poorer America, most of the shit you need to live/grow is more expensive.
