In 2007 Douglas Alexander said the only way to achieve Scottish independence was for the SNP to win a majority in a Holyrood election and then a majority in an Indyref.

Fair point. A single historical example isn’t enough, so asking for the maths behind the claim is reasonable.
And if someone presents themselves as a “core member” of a YES group, there’s a duty to be neutral so the wider pro-indy movement isn’t misled by unsubstantiated claims.
