The tariffs should be looked at as a short term loan. The government would just need to roll the refund into longer term debt. They didn't actually spend more money than Congress appropriated. The extra short term loan (tariff) just delayed other borrowing. Trump is a moron and speaking gibberish.
So he’s saying all the tariff money we took in is gone and we won’t be able to pay it back. There was always a possibility he could lose this lawsuit and have to refund the tariff money. We didn’t prepare for that possibility? He’s running the govt like he ran his casinos.

The Senate Democrats simply can’t be trusted. An act of good faith would be removing Schumer and Durbin from leadership positions.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

My fundamental problem with the Democratic Party is their lack of principles. I have no clue what they actually want, but I do know their actions always betray their words.

Democrats were always going to cave on the appropriations bill after the ACA bills went out and the SNAP payments stopped. I had just assumed they would use principle as a pretext. “We made our point on healthcare, but stopped SNAP payments hurt the vulnerable.” I didn’t expect abject surrender.

The more I see from the oligarchs the more I believe we should enact a confiscatory wealth tax and set them up with a small plot of land in Idaho to start anew and show us their brilliance by repeating their accumulation of wealth from zero.

The House isn’t going to take up any bill that passes the Senate and there won’t be enough votes in the Senate to pass anything anyway.

The healthcare industry is edging closer to crisis. Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance pay all the bills. Medicare payments grow slower than inflation, Medicaid got cut, and private insurance is left to make up the difference. ACA helps with that a lot and is in jeopardy.
