Anyway, I don’t really like to talk about this because it’s a very emotional and sensitive topic for people, and it’s hard when you’re in the moment. But I promise you the people I have gone city to city with are extremely dedicated to this, and many of us have decided it’s time to go home.

Chughtai, in wide eyed wonder at what she's hearing, responds to idea that the undeserving will exploit rental assistance: if you have income at the level of minimum wage, couldn't pay your rent for whatever reason, and you've been served an eviction notice, you're by definition a person in need.

Keeping streets clear is critical to protect lives and property. Blocked streets & makeshift checkpoints are serious concerns for emergency responders as they can delay response times & restrict access. Neighbors have echoed the City’s public safety concerns about this. Let’s keep our streets open.
