remember Scott Graham was chair of the anti-DSA platform, got kicked out of the Mpls DFL convention for calling a Jewish man a Nazi, was a mpls dfl challenger, & served on the CBRC who took away Fateh’s endorsement & put the MPLS DFL on probation.

the only one who needs probation is Scott Graham.
this is CD5 DFL chair Scott Graham. who called a Jewish man a Nazi at the Minneapolis DFL convention, used minivan to look up Sam Doten’s address, destroyed a woman’s career w/ false allegations of cheating, and referred to a room of Black delegates as “u ppl”.

is this what “polite” looks like?
Dude, we’ve never met. So yeah, I was just trying to track turnout. Every other precinct allowed me, cuz I’m polite. So anyway, you got up in my face so hard so fast. So yes, I called you an asshole b/c you were. Politeness works friend.

I had a redeye from PHX to Mpls Fri night (first day of the flight reductions); we were delayed 90 mins-for a flight leaving at midnight! Got to Mpls and my 7AM flight to CLT took off after 11. I watched flights being cancelled on the monitor in real time. And that was just the first 24 hrs of this.

I can't say enough about the organizers and attendees of Twin Cities Con. Love downtown MPLS, the programming, the readers. A+

Fwiw I think critically assessing the Mpls mayoral race is healthy. Disagreement can help to clarify and challenge!

Yesterday, I had a really good conversation with ano older white man who went to my middle/high school on a scholarship, grew up on my side of town and went to my rival college and still lives in Mpls.

#CheapVinylHacks Issue 7: Hey pal, know who you need to make friends with? Your local rekkid store owner (this one’s David Foley of Record Spot MPLS). They deserve your money more than the corporations, and they’ll keep an eye out for the stuff you like. Plus: way better stories.

We are so grateful to the generosity of @xtracycle.bsky.social & @thecargobikeshop.bsky.social, who donated this new Hopper to our library!

Our members (those who complete our free orientation) will be able to borrow it FREE for a week when we reopen in the spring.

Feel like we need a Razzies, or One Shining Moment, for 2025 Mpls election 🤡. Obvi Becka has her own category, making not 1 but 2 melanin comments + boyfriend-stalking, but also stuff like Lydia Millard’s data-center for Uptown & Mariam Demello calling Wellstone a moderate. Other nominations?

Also very big diff: public financing in NYC, not here in Mpls

3. Mpls is a company town. The average voter is a management level professional, skewing towards upper incomes. Much of their wealth is in their homes. Far far more renters and transit riders in NYC than Mpls.

To win you have to honestly appraise the electorate as it is. Aspiration is not a plan.

I am at a Walgreens in a particularly kinda shitty part of St. Louis where I grew up (south city) and not a single thing is locked up. And it is open till 9pm.

Now I gotta know if the lockdown on all things is a Mpls thing? Like some franchise owner shit?

Yesterday I picked up a cargo bike from
@thecargobikeshop.bsky.social.

On the ride home I came across another parent on a cargo bike (a cool Madsen!).

We did the “hello fellow cargo bike person” smile while stopped at a light, then rode the rest of the way back to Mpls together chatting.

🚲 ❤️
Waiting for the D line, my 4yr old tells a stranger at the bus stop all about his cousin's bday party, which we're headed to.

3 hrs later, we get on the bus home and sit next to that same person! He asked my son about the party and how it went. It was a wonderful, spontaneous moment of community.

i 100% agree

i was frustrated when mpls for the many didn't endorse Marvina Haynes. she really closed a lot of ground between her and Vetaw compared to 2023, i wonder what she could've done with more resources

but yeah regardless folks from north mpls deserve more of a place in the left

Mpls moderates: The fact that Fateh came in 2nd is evidence he could NEVER have won.

Also Mpls moderates: The fact that Davis was knocked out in round 2 cause he had no mathematical path to victory proves he WOULD have won.

Fuck yeah, NYC. let's keep it going for Mpls too.

GOP realized years ago they’d never successfully run a Republican for Mpls mayor so they just bought Frey.
November 5, 2025 at 3:08 AM
Using “far left” to describe the candidate supported by 31% - 44% of mayoral voters is a choice. Trump would agree with that choice, Frey camp agrees.

Far left in Mpls is either immediate full abolition of police and communes replace gov; or revolutionary takeover of gov by “the people,” depending

Built a formula off 1st choices to predict how Mpls wards will ultimately vote for mayor. Too many unknowns, so wonk amusement only:
Frey: 3, 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 13
Fateh: 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 10
Closest: north side W5 (52% Frey)
Progressive ward bummer: W12 (55% Frey)
North Korea number: W13 (74% Frey)
