kind of as a lark i had claude spawn subagents to review every place in this short paper where i summarize a source. 5 subagents, 179k Haiku tokens later, .... It did pretty good but it would be much more efficient to dump all the sources in NotebookLM and have Claude ask that.

Idk, I know a lot of people have had to deal with this. I haven't! But it seems tricky to me.

I don't sympathize with their complaint, exactly, because they just need to get over their problem.
But I could imagine having a similar problem if I had to explain to my kid what criminal punishment and policing is, because the simple answer that a kid might accept is morally unacceptable to me.

I think the problem these people face is not that it would be hard for their kid to understand about gay people, but that they personally can't accept the simple thing they could tell their kid. It's no problem for the kid to accept "sometimes two men love each other," it's a problem for the parent.

ICE has now spent over half a BILLION dollars just on purchasing warehouses around the country to convert into detention camps.

A lot of what billionaires control are genuine productive assets which will have similar values in other hands.
The assets for which that's not true are examples of economic waste caused by the existence of billionaires.

So the effect you're wondering about seems to me just a writedown of overvalued assets to something closer to their true social values.
That can be dangerous if it happens all at once. But if the cyclical effects can be managed, it's actually a good thing.

My crank theory is that productive activities in the US are actually too concentrated. This explains why we can have a crisis of housing costs at the same time as places no one wants to live.
Randomizing the economic geography (eg with UBI, California wealth tax) would basically be a free lunch.
