This is good advice. I usually make cocktails when I go places (nothing fancy, just clear liquor, lemon, a splash St Germaine, and flavored seltzer).
One thing I also do is mix non-alcoholic cocktails. Same ingredients, sub agave nectar for StG and extra seltzer or juice for liquor. Folks like it!

I do not drink because I have almost no tolerance for it anymore (one margarita is too much).
If you are hosting a party, I recommend also stocking:
