We really lucked out on that one
Michael Mann wanted a Pink Floyd track from the just released The Wall for this end shoot out but it was too expensive so he asked TD to simply “mimic”it as best they could.

Feel like I’m harping on this film’s success because the fact that it’s a “Eugenics Barbie” vehicle sadly makes it easier to talk about studios making films for US demographics as they exist not as they were 30-40 years ago without it being mistaken for a discussion of politics.
The Housemaid has crossed $300m worldwide and is nearing $200m just overseas. It’s one of the top-grossing erotic thrillers ever. When studios give neglected/underserved demographics a proverbial prime filet and treat it like a FOMO event, audiences can still show up in relatively sky-high numbers.
