The Republican Party must end.
The trolls' main form of communication is the laughing emoji. Whether it's lying, theft, rape, child sexual abuse, or treason, a troll will laugh. They're mostly bots and can't feel anything anyway, but the message is unfailingly evil.

FCC chairman Brendan Carr sees “competition concerns" if Netflix buys Warner Bros, but not if Paramount — owned by the Trump-allied Ellisons — does.

What a coincidence.

Brendan Carr, the Trump-appointed FCC chairman, said Netflix's proposed Warner Bros. deal raises 'competition concerns.' However, the FCC does not have any authority to review the pact.

one of the very most deeply wired of human instincts is "this is not fair" and that's why we try to build societies that are either fair or (more likely) lie to us about being fair

what these people are doing is breaking that contract in favor of "fuck you I'm doing this because I can"

There is a difference between expressing extreme disappointment with mainstream Democratic politicians who do not act with urgency, and trying to pull off the “both sides are the same” routine. The ruling class has its fingers in both, but it’s possible to distinguish fascism from liberalism.

“Say the magic name and save your ass” is not a creed conducive to goodness, or wisdom, or courage, or in fact, faith, but only a slavish desire to be rewarded for obedience to authority without regard for virtue. And that this is the creed of millions who claim to be “saved” is decadence itself.

Scent of a Woman (1992)
Dino Risi's 1974 film was a gently humorous piece of sentiment. In this remake, Al Pacino lets his weird mannerisms run amok as a blind colonel helped by a callow prep student (Chris O'Donnell). We're supposed to love this bastard. It ends with a rousing speech. Barf.

The filing deadline has passed in TX; Gonzalez & Cuellar both have primary opponents.

Gillen has several Dem opponents as well, as does Perez.

If you want to primary Suozzi, you still have until 3/30.

My hope for elections died in 2024. With corruption that is evident at every level of the political system, why should I have faith that the electoral system has not been corrupted? Of course I still vote. It’s a weapon that should be used. But after the 14th amendment was ignored, I lost faith.
