He is a computer safety researcher.
And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

Agree.
Sen Hassan, asked what will happen if Republicans don't carry out the deal, "Well, shame on them."
This is not what people were mobilizing for on Oct 18.

I don’t understand anything
How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

Normally retiring senators, from whichever party, do the courageous thing. This time they did the cowardly thing, and caved.
they're taking the heat for colleagues who agree with them, but don't want to get primaried

the strongest signal I’ve seen so far — the centrist and institutionalist wing of the Democratic Party is saying ‘hell no’
The government has been shut down for 40 days—the longest in history. All Democrats have fought hard for extending the Affordable Care Act tax credits that make health care affordable for millions. I’m voting against the bill given it doesn’t extend these valuable tax credits.

Can anyone list the alleged 8 Dem/I votes for me? CCM, King, poor sad John Fetterman, disappointing Tim Kaine...who else? And I know some peeled off.

You know I love you @talkingpointsmemo.com but how do you not list all 8? And I don't think they still have 8 but nobody has a good count right now...
After 40 days — during which Dems incessantly demanded the GOP get on board with their effort to protect expiring Obamacare subsidies — at least 8 Senate Dems now appear to be prepared to break ranks with their caucus, setting in motion an end to the shutdown.

This is not a deal — it's an empty promise.
Trump and his Republican Congress are making healthcare more expensive for the middle class and ending it for working families.
Time for Democrats to stand tall for affordable healthcare. www.politico.com/news/2025/11...
