My childhood friend says: I don’t believe in dinosaurs anymore. I laugh but he insists he’s not kidding. Stunned, I search his eyes for a glimmer of the person I’ve loved

Cynthia Johnson @minetodo.bsky.social has had #MyalgicEncephalomyelitis since 2009--she'd already survived #breastcancer-- and still needs help w/ her medical and everyday expenses.

For Night 11 of Scorsese Fest, I watched CASINO for the first time since its release.

I’d forgotten just how extraordinary Sharon Stone is as Ginger. Bravura performance as a woman who was sex trafficked from young and whose self-loathing is rivaled only by her beauty.

All people had to do was vote for the eminently qualified, exceptionally intelligent woman who wanted to expand Medicare to cover home health care.

But, hey, a child rapist unilaterally declaring war on half our hemisphere is good, too 🙄

We're gonna still refer to MS Now as MSNBC, right?

The way we do w/ X and Twitter?

Even Elon didn't choose a name that invokes a horrible fucking disease.

"There are about a thousand of us..."

One would be too many.

Release ALL the Epstein files and attending evidence.
NEW: Epstein survivors release the most powerful PSA I have ever seen.

Make this go viral so every member of the House of Representatives sees it.

The Epstein Files underscore one of our greatest failings as a nation:

We've never devoted enough time, money, legal assistance, and medical resources to eradicating sexual violence b/c too many powerful individuals--mostly men--are sexual assailants.

They don't want it to end.

“I think it's really important that we not talk about all of these families and individuals as if they're falling into homelessness; they are being pushed. This is an engineered neglect, and at every turn there are entire business models that are set up to capitalize on their predicament."
When the employed are pushed into homelessness
Despite working full-time, many families are locked out of the rental housing market, due to low wages, soaring rents and poor credit, and have been pushed into homelessness.

Alice Wong was one of the most effective people challenging the Whiteness of disability communities and its many flaws, but who believed fiercely in us as a community, in disabled people as oracles.

Alice brought so much to so many of us, it’s hard to measure the kind of gratitude I have for that.

You know, none of us have to take a position on MTG’s purported Come-To-Jesus heel turn. We neither have to call her a liar nor put a crown on her head. If she’s full of shit, that will become apparent in time. And she has much to atone for.
BASH: We have seen these attacks from the president at other people. It's not new. And I haven't heard you speak out about it until it was directed at you.

MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE: I think that's fair criticism. And I would like to say, humbly, I'm sorry for taking part in the toxic politics.

For Night 10 of Scorsese Fest I finally--finally!--watched THE KING OF COMEDY for the first time.

When I was a teen, the reviews invoked Lennon's murder and I thought it'd bum me out, so I put it off.

It is, of course, a masterpiece & DeNiro/Pupkin's monologue at the end is one for the ages.

This is what many of us have been saying. Part 3 of the Planning & Infrastructure Bill is based on a myth: that we don't have enough homes because wildlife and green spaces are protected. It will solve nothing, and inflict terrible harm on our remaining ecosystems

Now that we’ve all processed the information of Trump giving other men blowjobs (good for him?), let’s return to the fact he raped children and Putin has blackmail on him that Epstein knew about and likely provided to Russia. Impeachment and arrest now.

My vegan yogurt just went up $1.25 since I bought it eight days ago.

I get sicker when I eat much dairy.

So, I eat vegan yogurt & blackberries & blueberries b/c it's a healthy meal when I'm too ill to make anything else.

The berries cost a fortune now, too.

Just trying to stay alive, man.

For Night 9 of Scorsese Fest, I rewatched THE WOLF OF WALL STREET and, as a film, it's still wildly entertaining.

The problem is that our current era is SO corrupt--the POTUS is a grifting child rapist FFS--that Jordan Belfort and his ilk, who were truly awful, look small potatoes by comparison.

Oh, man. So saddening 💔

Alice was a wonderful disability activist and writer.

I was always moved that deliberately included those of us w/ post-infectious illnesses.

As we say in Greek, may her memory be eternal 💙🕯️
This is so devastating to hear. Alice was a legend—an incredible writer and a fierce advocate. Here is some of the work she did for the Disability Visibility Project. As @helenrottier.bsky.social said, she will be missed by many

What a photograph.
