I have a buddy who does picks up marketing work and writes promotional copy. He quoted $2k for a bunch of writing, but the company had AI do it instead.

Three weeks later he negotiated $2.5k to edit the AI's work. Starting from a bad place is more work than just doing it.
I have straight-up told two clients at this point that I charge more to edit an AI draft than to just write the whole thing myself, and they are positively confounded by this, but in both cases they ended up just paying me the usual rate to write the whole thing myself.

It’s crazy the sheer number of supposedly rational people who were like “ok but it’s good at health stuff” early on.
When AI was added to a tool for sinus surgery: “Cerebrospinal fluid leaked from one patient’s nose. In another… a surgeon mistakenly punctured the base of a patient’s skull. In two other cases, patients suffered strokes after a major artery was accidentally injured”

Instead of age verification, websites should just make you describe the first time you saw someone die on the Internet. if the story makes whoever reads it sad, you're an adult for Internet purposes.

By any objective metric the Pro-Covid forces won overwhelmingly in America, so, basic precautions we should still be doing/encouraging are seen as odd.

"If you even hint at where you live then a pack of arsonists will descend upon your home and burn it down before kidnapping you within 24 hours" - Was lowkey the vibe I got from how I should interact with the internet.

Trusting Elon Musk to get you to the moon is like trusting the uber driver to get you to your destination after he steps on the gas and a meth pipe rolls out from under the driver’s seat

I think I'll need to prune some of the folks I'm following. It's been like five years now, if you're still on the fence about the Torment Nexus that is Generative AI then I don't know what to tell you...

More and more people will come to this inescapable conclusion: bsky.app/profile/deat...
My take that the people who unleashed Generative AI on the public should be prosecuted for crimes against humanity is only going to grow into the consensus in time, like Abolish Ice.

I think that's just social media. It rots the brain and encourages behavior that would never be acceptable in real life.

Friends, that was NOT Liam Ramos at the Super Bowl halftime show. Folks need to stop spreading that false information.

That said, the symbolism was clear 🙏🏽

To some White Supremacy is worth more than money, land, or their lives.

It is an irrational, quasi-religious belief.

Reciting facts about evolution will not convince the majority of Creationists that evolution is true, just as facts about immigration will leave White Supremacists unmoved.

You're so close to getting it, but, veer away at the last second because something has gone wrong in your brain and you think that there's a place for the Torment Nexus in a non-nightmare dystopian future.

If it's what I think it is, could you add in some of the contemporary reviews of Shadow of Conqueror? Because there are some names who gave that book soft reviews seemingly to stay in Shad's good graces. To the point that Booktube seemed mostly positive towards it when it came out.

I’m not arguing with no account defending AI. My grandmother lives in an area being environmentally compromised currently by an ai data center. I remember the color of the lake before they built it and the sludge I see in it when I go to see her. Shut the fuck up about “the benefits of AI” forever.
